Santa and ‘the stork’ working in tandem?

Med Center Health offers free Grandparents’ Class

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –Is Santa bringing your family a bundle of joy this Christmas?

If so, Med Center Health is offering a free class to help our new grandmas and grandpas feel prepared.

The two-hour Grandparents’ Class will cover transitioning to the new role of grandparent, as well as up-to-date baby care recommendations and safety measures during the next few exciting months!

The class takes place Thursday, December 29th at The Med Center’s Health Science Complex from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Med Center Health OB Community Educator Samantha Peebles said, “We’ll ask them to bring a doll or a stuffed animal and we’ll practice swaddling: things that they’ve not done and maybe 30 years…. I’m able to show them what to do, and just make that where they have that, ‘Oh yeah. Ok! I remember how to do this.’ kind of lightbulb moment.”

Educators also offer free programs covering pain management for moms, newborn care and safety, car seat installation, and a virtual month-long class preparing soon-to-be brothers and sisters for the arrival of a new baby.
