Riley Guertin is the producer of WNKY News 40 Sunrise and WNKY News 40 at Noon. WNKY News 40 is the first station Riley has worked at, starting in September of 2022. She is currently attending Western Kentucky University, pursuing a degree in History with a minor in Film.
Riley’s daily responsibilities include editing scripts during the production of WNKY News 40 Sunrise, and scheduling and coordinating interviews. She creates scripts for WNKY News 40 at Noon, as well as collects and determines which content will go into the show. Weekly, she produces News 40’s Pet of the Day segment. There, she collects information about each pet for future articles, determines which pets to be filmed, and interacts with staff.
And even though Riley’s just getting her news career started, she’s had previous writing experience in the past! She gained skills on how to reach out to the community as a Community Garden Liaison, releasing press releases to the public at only sixteen. In addition to that, as a previous preschool teacher, she maintained daily and weekly communication through newsletters with parents on their child’s day and school happenings.
