Different Christmas trees and the pros and cons
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Whether you have a live tree or a fake tree, there’s a list of pros and cons for both.
You may believe the fake tree is the best option because it lasts for years. You could think that the live tree makes for a better Christmas experience with its natural pine scent.
While both have their advantages, according to recycling experts, they also have their downfalls.
Ryan Smith, the CEO of Recyclops, shares the negative outcomes.
He says, “You’re putting some tree in the landfill or you’re having to deal with trying to figure out how to make sure it doesn’t end up in a landfill. At the end of the season, it’s unlikely that that tree is ever going to be recycled.”
If you already have a fake Christmas tree, keep it as long as possible. For pre-lit trees, if a light goes out try to get it fixed before getting rid of the tree. Any tree that you used this Christmas has different advantages and disadvantages.
