Warren Central hosts State Championship Ring Ceremony for Boys’ Basketball

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren Central Dragons added some bling to their fingers.

The 2022-23 champion boys’ basketball squad got to rep their state championship rings tonight at a ceremony held at Warren Central High School.

The ceremony featured the seniors who have since graduated, including Chapelle Whitney.

Whitney said tonight was a perfect close to his chapter at Warren Central High School.

” I remember us freshman year talking about going to state championships and going to state so I feel like this is just the bow to the story,” Whitney said. “The ending, you know.”

Bowling Green Hoops gears up for the 2023-24 basketball season

BOWLING GREEN, KY. – The Bowling Green Lady Purples enter the year after winning the district and region championships and falling in the state tournament to Owensboro Catholic.

The team lost a few key seniors but will look bounce back with a new group.

And the boys’ team is looking to get back to the top of the district and region after falling in both championship games to Warren Central last season.

With every single player from last year returning, they will be a force in the area led by forward Mason Ritter and guard Deuce Bailey.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Lady Dragons finished at the bottom of the district last season with a 5-25 record.

After falling to Bowling Green in the district tournament, the team comes into the year with a more experienced roster.

And the Warren Central boys’ team is coming off of a year where they won not only the district and the region, but the Dragons were the state champions.

Many members are returning from last year’s team, including WKU Basketball commit Kade Unseld.

Greenwood Hoops readies for 2023-24 season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Greenwood Lady Gators are preparing with first year head coach Terrance Williams.

The Lady Gators finished last season 15-17 with a loss to Russellville in the 4th Region Tournament.

Greenwood brings back numerous key pieces like Jojo McCorkle, Avery Overmohle and superstar Leia Trinh.

The boy’s team is all gearing up for the new season with head coach Will McCoy.

The 2022-2023 season was not up the expectations at Greenwood after finishing 9-22 and losing in the first round of the district tournament.

Greenwoods Asher Pettus is one of the key returners looking for a big season.
