Barrel of Wreaths by Simpson County woman

SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. – Even though Christmas is coming up, you can get them year-round.

News 40 spoke to Angela Moore, owner of Barrel of Wreaths, about her small and unique business today. Moore showed her technique and took some time to talk about her passion.

Angel Moore said it was just two years ago that she and her mother decided to make a business venture.

Angela Moore told the station her mother wanted to start making wreaths thinking they could sell some just here and there, and decided to keep it going. Angela Moore’s husband, Terry, was about to be laid off from his current job and figured it would be an easy way to bring in some extra money.

Her husband would start to develop Moore Property Inspection the same year while Angela would begin to receive more orders for her side hustle, in addition to the full-time job she already worked and continues to do so.

News 40 spoke to Terry as well, who said it was stressful for them at times and there was patience and prioritization needed for them to both make their individual paths to progress. Terry said as long as you keep your priorities straight; God, family, business, God will take care of everything else.

Angela has gone on to set a new record every year, selling 150 wreaths in 2021, 567 in 2022 and 603 so far in 2023. The wreath maker said it’s all about hustle when it comes to starting your own business – it takes sacrifice and patience, but to Angela, it’s all worth it.
