Third annual Holiday Hoopla to be celebrated in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – A scene similar to a Hallmark movie will hit Morgantown this Saturday, and we’re all invited!

News 40 spoke to Billy Phelps, mayor of Morgantown, about this upcoming event to welcome in the holiday spirit. Phelps and the staff started this Holiday Hoopla in 2021 to have something to celebrate the winter months, and this third year is meant to be the biggest yet.

The mayor said it will be similar to a carnival, along with over 60 vendors and a snow machine to cover the street. A lot will be going on, including a light show and drone show above the city.

Phelps said they expect 3,000 to 5,000 people out Saturday evening from 3 to 8 p.m.  Saturday, Nov. 18.
