First live Christmas tree on Glasgow square

GLASGOW, Ky. – Light Up Glasgow is on the way, and Glasgow is starting already with their first live Christmas tree in the square.

News 40 visited Glasgow today to see the city set up a 22-footer for the holiday season, and it was quite a sight. Multiple departments in the city government helped to erect the tree which will be the main attraction it seems to this year’s festivities.

News 40 spoke to Glasgow’s mayor, Henry Royse, who said this year the square will be “next level”. The mayor said thanks to Luxury Garden Center donating the tree, they’re going to light the square up like never before.

News 40 also spoke to the co-owner of the local business who told us that they were happy to help out this year. Lacey Kerr said that Glasgow and Barren County have supported them over the years and when the opportunity to give back came, they took it.
