School board race for BGISD

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you voted this weekend, or plan on voting tomorrow, you might see some names you recognize on the ballot.

Cierra Waller and Janet Burks are running for a seat on the Bowling Green Independent School District’s school board, so News 40 sought some comment from both of them and today we spoke to Janet Burks.

Burks said that with 41 years of experience, she hopes to bring a more well-rounded perspective to the board. As a woman who has been a teacher, guidance counselor and substitute for the district, she feels that she can do a lot of good for the district.
