Carlyle Coppins, originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, made her way to Bowling Green, KY after graduating from Tennessee State University. During high school Carlyle discovered her passion for journalism.

After graduating from Rossview High School, Carlyle decided to pursue a degree in communications focusing on Broadcast Journalism at TSU. While in school she built many relationships and learned so much about about herself and how she will make a positive impact on any community she enters. Throughout her undergraduate years, she actively participated in various organizations and clubs, such as the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), TSU Radio as a host, Tiger Television as the chair, NACWC Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated Alpha Psi Chapter, and The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

During her leisure time, Carlyle enjoys activities such as roller skating, singing, dancing, cooking exotic foods, and watching movies.
