Sports Reporter/Multi-Media Journalist

Marquee Broadcasting Kentucky, Inc. is looking for a full-time Sports Reporter/MMJ!

The Sports Reporter is responsible for gathering sports assignments and carefully selecting them in coordination with the Sports Director. Duties include turning daily stories, staying informed on both local & national sports, and anchoring daily sportscast.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Responsible for reporting sports stories inhouse and in the field.
• Covering live sporting events.
• Anchoring sportscasts.
• Shoot and edit video for air or online.
• Stay up to date on current events in the world of sports.
• Participate in community events from time to time.
• Cultivate relationships with coaches across South Central Kentucky.
• Create weekly Football Frenzy, a recap show Friday night high school football highlights. This includes coordination of several people to help shoot games.
• Contribute to multiple platforms on a daily basis including writing for the website, social media and on-air sportscast.
• Contribute one news package or VO/SOT daily for the evening newscast.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• One year sports broadcasting reporting experience preferred.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Non-linear editing experience, ability to operate a video camera.
• Must be able to lift & carry 30 pounds.
• Day, night, and weekend hours may be required.
