Master Control Operator

We are looking for an experienced Master Control Operator capable of running multi-network schedules and ensuring our programming is aired in south central Kentucky.  The ideal candidate will have experience with broadcast operations and scheduling, must be a self-starter and be able to succeed with minimal supervision.

Job Description: Loads, interprets, and manages the broadcast log operation through station automation.  Adjusts the log for timing accuracy. Moves and edits the log to accommodate timely airing of programming and paid commercial elements. Operates systems to ensure that network programming airs or is recorded as needed. Operates systems to capture, record and transcode programing and commercials. Insures the technical and observable quality of all air content for all networks is correct. Acts in concert with other departments to produce and air live or recorded studio content. Maintains a discrepancy log to ensure awareness of any on-air event that is either technically incorrect or missing.  Notes any changes that impact programming or paid commercial. Maintains a log that tracks transmitter and tower light operations. Reports any technical issues to the station engineering staff in a timely manager. Times all air content for correct ins, segments, and outs. Interfaces with the Traffic, Promotions, and Sales departments to ensure all content airs as required. Performs periodic EAS tests as required by the FCC. Additional duties as requested/scheduled.

Qualifications: Associates Degree or Applied Associate in Broadcast Technology preferred. Specialized knowledge in broadcasting preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with special attention to detail. Basic math & computer knowledge skills. Adaptability and flexibility; must be able to multi-task.

Physical Requirements or Restrictions: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
