Norton Children’s NICU patients get Christmas photoshoot

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Norton Children’s Hospital worked together to bring a holiday photoshoot for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.

The hospital says for many of the patients, this was their first Christmas.

Anngela Barton, a NICU nurse at Norton Children’s, says these babies do not get to be home for Christmas, so “being able to give their parents a little bit of a normal Christmas atmosphere, I think is really important for these kids.”

Barton says this was the NICU’s first time doing this, and people have been overwhelmed with the staff doing this for them.

The photoshoot consisted of each baby being photographed in some outfits showing holiday favorites, such as Santa or a reindeer theme.

Barton says the experience has been rewarding.

Currently, Norton’s says it has 90 babies in the NICU.
