Voices of Honor: Earl Wassom pilots a B-24 over World War II’s Europe

Earl Wassom joined the Army Aviation Cadet Program in 1942 and flew B-24s over Europe during World War II. He delivered fuel to George S. Patton’s forces as the General drove his tanks across territories that had been captured by the Germans.  On a bombing mission, enemy guns took out an engine and Wassom had to find the nearest airstrip to land his damaged plane and his crew of ten.
