SOKY Ice Rink’s Adaptive Sledding

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- For the past three years, SOKY Ice Rink has been a great holiday experience for any family, and they are also creating opportunities for people with disabilities.

The SOKY Ice Rink is more than an ice rink. For the past three years, everyone has had the chance to get out on the ice, thanks to their adaptive sledding. The experience has impacted many families who would never get the chance to get on the ice.

For Bowling Green Parks and Rec staff, it makes them happy to see people in the community getting the opportunity to experience a little holiday magic. Cameron Levis, the division manager of Bowling Green Parks and Rec, shares why they started adaptive sledding.

He says, “Specifically in the adaptive rec division, it’s for moments that can help somebody in our community that may have a disability feel like they have something they can be a part of.”

The SOKY ice rink will be open on Wednesday. For more details on their holiday hours, visit their Facebook at facebook.com/SoKYIce.
