Michael Adams re-elected as secretary of state in Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Republican incumbent Michael Adams has been re-elected as Kentucky’s secretary of state.

In the final results published Tuesday to the state’s official website, Adams won with a total of 783,695 votes.

Democratic candidate Charles “Buddy” Wheatley brought in 509,308 votes.

In the end, Adams stood at a final 60.6% of the vote next to Wheatley’s 39.4%.

According to the official website of the commonwealth, Adams, a native of Paducah, Kentucky, was inaugurated as Secretary of State on January 6, 2020.

The statewide results were finalized late Tuesday night in a closely watched General Election that drew attention at both the state and national level.
