Republican Jonathan Shell wins commissioner of agriculture race

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Republican Jonathan Shell has won the race for Kentucky commissioner of agriculture.

Shell won with 59.4% of the vote, gathering 761,937 total votes, according to statewide Election Day results.

Democratic candidate Sierra J. Enlow reached 40.6% of the vote with a total of 521,747 votes.

Shell has released the following statement after his election:

“I’m so honored by the trust placed in me by the people of Kentucky to be the next Commissioner of Agriculture. I’ll work every day to support Kentucky’s farmers, protect our rural communities and defend our way of life. Brooke and I are grateful to everyone who supported our campaign and worked tirelessly to build a better Commonwealth for our families and our children. Thank you, Kentucky! Let’s get to work building a strong future. We’re gonna Stop Biden and Save Kentucky.”

Agriculture commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles shared his congratulations for Shell in the following statement:

“Congratulations to Jonathan Shell on being elected Kentucky’s next Agriculture Commissioner. Promoting the interests of Kentucky agriculture across the state, nation, and world, and advocating for Kentucky’s 76,000 farm families is an awesome responsibility.
