Update on early voting in South Central Kentucky

SOUTH CENTRAL, Ky. – Early voting in Kentucky was this past Thursday through Saturday, and the region seems to have had a pretty good turnout.

News 40 spoke to Warren and Allen County’s clerks to see what the polls said on Monday ahead of Election Day on Tuesday. Lynette Yates who serves as clerk for Warren County told News 40 that the turnout for this November was just 100 votes shy of last year, which it still pretty average since early voting started in 2020.

Sarah Constant told News 40 that Allen County’s turnout was pretty good as well. According to Clerk Constant, early voter turnout for this November was at 35% like it was for them back in their May election.

Both Constant and Yates told the station that voters were happy to get voting out of the way, as three extra days ahead of election day is a great convenience to working folk.

Yates also mentioned that early voting venues are dependent on participation, so if you’re one who enjoys the extra free time to exercise your right, make sure you spread the word to those around.
