Remember early voting in Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN – The gubernatorial election is knocking on Kentucky’s door and early voting starts tomorrow.

Election day for the next governor of the state is technically Nov. 7, but Kentucky has added days in hopes of increasing voter turn out. Thursday begins early voting here in the Commonwealth, giving citizens the option to get out a little sooner up until Saturday.

News 40 spoke to Michael Adams, the state secretary, who encouraged everyone to get out and take advantage of the early voting opportunity. Adams said as polarized as state elections are here, a handful of votes can definitely make a difference.

He also commented on around 22,000 absentee ballots being uncounted as of right now. Adams said to those who still has ballots out, to make sure they are mailed in by 6 p.m. on election day.
