Glasgow Auto Auction theft

GLASGOW, Ky. – In Glasgow, just off Exit 8 across from Nutrien, 3 vehicles and a trailer disappear over the weekend, leaving one local family in a tough situation.

Marc and Dalana Jones of Bowling Green own the Glasgow Auto Auction and have owned the site since 2019. Up until now, they’ve had minimal issues but now they are dealing with a case of theft.

This past weekend, a driver for the auction was test driving the company work truck to make sure it could make the journey to another auction site when it broke down over by the parkway on Friday, Oct. 28. The driver blocked it off with some cones and decided to return Saturday morning to fix the truck. When the driver returned, the truck, and the trailer attached to it carrying 2 more vehicles, were all gone. The Jones family says that the loss totals up to around $60,000.

The driver assured that the truck and everything else was secured before he left the site Friday night, along with the only key to the truck. The Jones family along with the Barren County Sherriff’s Department are currently at a loss and hoping to find any kind of clue that could point to the missing inventory.

Both Dalana and Marc Jones said to News 40 that this incident puts them in a very tough place and are desperate for answers, confused at how the theft could be pulled off.

The Jones family told us that the truck stolen was their only operational truck at the moment, leaving them with no way to transport vehicles or pull their remaining trailer.
